Green slalom front truck

My thread die arrived so I have managed to cut a few axles and lock the first into this little green 96mm wide Bennett

This truck will be taken for a short test ride to assure it will sing and then will be up for sale. With the precision axle, faced hanger and polished pivot this truck would be at home on any tight slalom board.  For more info and pricing click either of the photos.

Polished Bennett pivot

Since I am now still waiting on an axle threading tool to arrive I could not help putting some more time into the pivot

Started with the biggest file I could find and worked my way round to a plastic pot scrubber and cutting compound.

First completed Bennett Mod

Here is the first completed Bennett mod

Really stoked with the results and just need to wait for the clear coats to harden up before taking out for a test ride. While it is a vast improvement over the stock truck I am considering pulling out the under sized axle and replacing with a 7.94mm ground stainless axle for even better performance. I have also knocked out the stock kingpin and am going to pick up something like a Grind king hex key bolt to avoid constantly hitting rocks with the kingpin nut.

I have cast in some muddy red hints into the top hanger logo and baseplate logos and decided to leave a few patches of black paint for a slightly more interesting finish.

Any suggestions as to a good bushing combo?

Glue and bearings

Not the best combo but with some masking tape and putty I don’t think any epoxy will make it into the bearing.

Started by facing the hangers and setting at 124mm wide before filing the centre out of the bushing seat by hand. I was careful to make sure the hole was just tight enough that I would be able to press fit the bearing into the hanger. Decided to lock it in place with some epoxy just to make sure it will last the distance as well as providing some high build so I can sand in a flat surface for the bushing.

I was considering also adding a spherical to the base plate but many suggest that this makes the truck a little stiff. Decided to reshape the pivot as the original casting has a casting split line around this area that creates an oval pin. Really excited to run this truck tomorrow as the test fit suggested that this is going to be a very responsive truck

Expect photos as soon as I finish this truck!
